Welcome competitors and supporters to Aonach Australia 2025
Aonach Australia – A gathering of Connemara Ponies for fun and competition and to celebrate the excellence of the breed.
Held the weekend closest to St Patrick's Day at the Charles Sturt University Equine Centre.
Sadly, we were forced to cancel the 2024 event due to the ill-health and subsequent passing of the driving force behind the creation of Aonach Australia, Zita Denholm (1933–2024).

Zita was passionate about this event, which she had worked hard to ensure gave Connemara Pony riders and breeders – and their families – the chance to gather together to showcase the versatility and nature of this wonderful breed in a friendly, supportive and encouraging environment.
As usual, the overall success of Aonach relies not just on the number of entries received, but on the willingness of competitors and their supporters to put their hands up to volunteer throughout the weekend.
